More Poetry!

Year 5 had the chance to take part in a poetry competition with other local schools. We worked on techniques we could use in our poems and they produced some great work. The poems were written on the theme of 'Our Homes'. There could only be one winner and that was Logan. He wrote a fabulous poem and was chosen to perform it at The Storyhouse in Chester. We are very proud of him.

My House, My Home

The hallway floorboards creek as someone new comes in.

Shoes spread out like jam on toast.

The pathway blocked by the sticky mess.

The tired stars watching as we go up and down.

From the bathroom water leaks, flooding the house.

The water is as cold as ice.

Rushing water hits your hip.

The exhausted water has been travelling for days but won’t give up!

My bedroom remembers sleepovers in the past,

These memories make me happy too.

We wish our friends could be with us again.

This is my house and I wouldn’t change anything at all.
