Ashton Sings Concert
Our school choir were honoured to join with Ashton Sings to present a mini concert. It is the first time the choirs have performed together since the pandemic and this made the evening extra special. Our children performed 3 songs alone and 2 with Ashton Sings, the last song 'Friendship in the Air' was written during the pandemic, about the pandemic and was a fitting end to a lovely evening. There were a few tears especially when the children joined in with the chorus!
Children who play instruments also had the chance to play with the adults and as a treat Martin, musiclal directer of Ashton Sings, played the saw!! A lovely evening with the community joining together once again and clearly appreciated by everyone as the message from a member of the choir confirms.
'What a lovely evening it was last night!
Many thanks for inviting Ashton Sings into your school. It felt very special to be singing again with an audience and with another Choir.Your pupils are delightful and from the pride in the parents’ faces they too loved seeing their children perform.
I’m sure many of the children will be talking about ‘Martin made a saw play’! They just couldn’t believe it and it was such fun to witness the hilarity amongst them, in particular the high note at the end……
We look forward to many more joint ventures in the future.'
